Chris Zelinsky,
Born in Thunder bay, Ontario, started DJing as most DJs have – on Vinyl. His first gig was at Stageworks Raves, in British Columbia at age 15. Later he sought to become more and expand his horizons to include the entertainment aspect, and started doing mobile gigs such as Weddings/Socials with Maverick Entertainment in Thunder Bay, Ontario. Working with this crew, there were 2 other DJ’s (including the owner) named ‘Chris’, so they called him ‘Zee’ being the American pronunciation of the first initial of his last name. One day the owner of Maverick dubbed him “Dee Jay Zee” and it has stuck ever since.
Summer of 2006 Chris sought more excitement, and began his touring over western Canada, appearing in many major nightclubs in all of the major prairie cities, to the coast in Vancouver. He came and established Edmonton as home-base that summer being central to all of the cities he visits, home to Twilite Music Services his DJ Contracting company for western Canada. Since he has taken up ‘Residency’ in a few nightclubs in Saskatoon, SK and Edmonton, AB. To this day he sometimes visits passed venues and plays a guest appearance in these locations.
From late 2008 to January of 2011, Chris was the head of a DJ team, working for Edmonton’s well known Purple Onion Nite Club doing their events, promotions, and technical work. January 2011 The Purple Onion location was sold, and since Chris has moved to a pub in the Capilano area called Fargos. He made this move to get away from the busy night life of the clubs, to become more personable and intimate with the crowd playing games like ‘Name That Tune’.
Over the years, Chris has created a following, and a great network of friends through Facebook and other social means. Creating a customer friendly, all requests, atmosphere in all of the locations he attends, he always would like to THANK all of his fans, followers, and friends, for all of the support through the years, and many more to come!
